The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the Class 10th and 12th Board Results for 2025 between May 1 and May 10, 2025, following exams held from February 15 to April 4, 2025. Over 42 lakh students participated, with 24.12 lakh in Class 10 and 17.88 lakh in Class 12. Provisional marksheets will be available online, but CBSE will not publish an official toppers list to reduce competitive stress. Here’s how to check your results and insights on high performers.
How to Check CBSE Results
Students can access their results through multiple platforms to avoid server issues:
- Visit results.cbse.nic.in or cbse.gov.in. Click “CBSE Class 10 Result 2025” or “CBSE Class 12 Result 2025,” enter roll number, date of birth, school number, and admit card ID, then submit to download the marksheet.
- Use digilocker.gov.in with roll number and a school-provided 6-digit PIN to access digital marksheets. Save for future reference.
- Send an SMS to 7738299899 in the format: “cbse10 ” or “cbse12 ” to receive subject-wise marks.
- For name-wise access, retrieve roll numbers at cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/finder.html using name, parents’ names, school code, and date of birth.
Original marksheets must be collected from schools later.
Pass Percentage and Performance
Last year, Class 10 achieved a pass percentage of 93.60%, and Class 12 recorded 87.98%, with girls outperforming boys. For 2025, Class 10 is projected to exceed 93% due to moderate question papers, while Class 12 may reach around 88%. Students need 33% per subject (including internal assessments) to pass. Exams covered 84 subjects for Class 10 and 120 for Class 12 across 7,842 centers. Trivandrum is expected to lead regionally, as it did in 2024 with 99.91% for Class 12.
No Official Toppers List
CBSE will not release a toppers list for 2025 to promote mental well-being, a policy in place since 2022. However, merit certificates will be awarded to the top 0.1% of students per subject. Unofficial reports from 2024 highlighted students like Divya Namdev, who scored 100% in Class 10. High scorers can share details on platforms like collegedekho.com for recognition. Over 47,983 Class 10 students scored above 95% last year, and similar trends are expected.
